In a world that is increasingly facing the challenges of climate change and environmental pollution, a team of researchers has decided to make a significant contribution to sustainability. The goal: the development of a green zinc production.
The dedicated team of scientists and students at Montanuniversitaet Leoben is rethinking traditional methods of zinc recycling in order to develop innovative, more environmentally friendly solutions for the utilization of metallurgical by-products. By applying state-of-the-art technologies and integrating eco-friendly processes, the aim is to make the zinc production more efficient and ecologically friendly.
The research focuses on various aspects: from reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions to minimizing waste and pollution. The holistic approach encompasses both the optimization of existing production processes and the development of innovative processes based on renewable energies.
